It was the Greek form of the Hebrew name \u201cYeshua\u201d (or Yehoshua) and equivalent to the name \u201cJoshua.\u201d It literally means \u201cJehovah is salvation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As common as the name may have been at the time, when God became flesh and took this name for Himself, it truly fulfilled its meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In AP\u2019s next Vacation Bible School, we will be examining some of the many names given to Jesus in Scripture.
